Local feedback loop for coding agents

Point at the change.
Send the evidence.

Dev Feedback captures what you mean in the browser, keeps the session on your machine, and opens the configured project in Codex or imports a completed Claude session into its matching profile.

01 The page gives you the context

03 Your local agent gets a new chat

Start here

Install once.
Keep the loop local.

Dev Feedback has two pieces: a Chrome extension that records the page context, and a companion that hands reviewed feedback to one configured agent and project on this machine.

02

Install the local companion

Use Node.js 22.12 or newer. For Codex, keep Codex Desktop signed in with its local daemon. For Claude, sign Claude Desktop into the profile that matches the Claude CLI connection you choose.

$ npm install -g ./dev-feedback-cli.tgz
$ dev-feedback companion
↓dev-feedback-cli.tgzLocal CLI · npm install -g↗
03

Configure a target

Bind a project folder, agent connection and website origin. The folder must be an absolute path on this machine.

$ dev-feedback target add \
  --repo /absolute/path/to/repo \
  --agent codex \
  --name "My app" \
  --origin http://localhost:5173

Choose codex, claude-a or claude-b for the connection you configured.

The handoff

From a gesture
to a useful chat.

Record while you work, then inspect the evidence before anything leaves the extension. Submit only when the request and screenshots say what you mean.

A

Point & talk

Use Alt-click on the element while recording. The extension keeps the page, source hints and selected screenshot together. For standalone React apps, source hints are best-effort; the element and screenshot remain the evidence.

B

Review the packet

Open the review screen, check the captured screenshots, and choose Submit all feedback.

C

Open your new chat

Codex opens immediately in the configured folder. The current desktop build lists these chats under Tasks. On macOS, the completed Claude CLI session imports into the selected Claude Desktop profile, which must already be signed in.

A small public surface

The website distributes.
Your machine does the work.

01 Recordings live on your machine. Submitting sends selected feedback and screenshots to your chosen agent.

02 This site serves the guide and the two release artifacts only.

03 No sign-in, agent control, feedback submission or inference endpoint lives here.
